Cinnamon Cream Cheese Cookies

A soft, melt-in-your-mouth treat!

Cinnamon Cream Cheese Cookies

There’s something magical about the smell of cinnamon filling the house during the holidays. These Cinnamon Cream Cheese Cookies are the perfect addition to your Christmas baking tradition, combining the warmth of cinnamon with the creamy sweetness of cream cheese in a soft, melt-in-your-mouth treat.

What makes these cookies so special is their balance of flavors and textures. The dough, enriched with butter and cream cheese, creates a soft and tender cookie that’s not overly sweet. Rolling each cookie in a cinnamon-sugar coating before baking adds a hint of spice and a delightful crunch. They’re simple to make yet elegant enough to impress guests at holiday gatherings.

Ingredients:

• ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

• 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

• 1½ cups powdered sugar

• 1 egg

• ½ teaspoon baking powder

• 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or extract

• Pinch of kosher salt

• 1¾ cups all-purpose flour

• ¼ cup granulated sugar

• 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and cream cheese with a mixer until smooth.

2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until fully combined.

3. Add the egg, baking powder, vanilla, and a pinch of salt; mix until well incorporated.

4. Slowly add the all-purpose flour, mixing until fully combined, scraping the sides of the bowl.

5. Cover the dough and refrigerate for one hour.

6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

7. In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon; set aside.

8. Roll the chilled dough into 1-inch balls (about 2 teaspoons of dough each).

9. Roll each dough ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until well coated.

10. Place the coated dough balls on baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

11. Bake for 8-9 minutes. Avoid over-baking; they will puff up but won’t turn golden brown.

12. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

This recipe yields approximately 2 doz cookies.

These cookies are a wonderful project for family baking days. Kids will love rolling the dough balls in the cinnamon-sugar mixture, and the quick bake time means you’ll have warm, fresh cookies in no time. Pair them with a mug of hot cocoa or spiced tea for a cozy evening by the fire.

Happy holidays and happy baking!
