Double Chocolate Banana Bread

Transform overripe bananas into a chocolatey treat!

Double Chocolate Banana Bread

If you’re craving something indulgent but comforting, try this double chocolate banana bread recipe! The smell of cocoa and bananas wafting through your kitchen is reason enough for me to make this time and again. It’s the perfect way to use those overly ripe bananas sitting on the counter. With a rich, fudgy texture and bursts of melted chocolate chips in every bite, this bread is a decadent treat. Bonus: it’s easy enough to whip up with the kids —even if they just mash the bananas! Pair it with a cup of milk for the kids and coffee for the adults.

Ingredients:

This recipe for double chocolate banana bread includes mashed bananas, egg, melted butter, Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, two types of sugar (white and brown), all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips. These ingredients are mixed and baked to create a moist, chocolate-packed loaf.

• 1 ½ cup ripe bananas, mashed

• 1 egg

• ¼ cup butter, melted

• ½ cup Greek yogurt

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

• ⅓ cup granulated white sugar

• ⅓ cup brown sugar

• 1 cup all-purpose flour

• ½ cup cocoa powder

• 1 tsp baking soda

• ½ tsp salt

• 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° and prepare a loaf pan by lining with parchment paper.

  2. Mash bananas and combine with wet ingredients (egg, butter, yogurt, vanilla, and sugars).

  3. Mix dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt) in a separate bowl.

  4. Sift then gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined.

  5. Stir in chocolate chips and pour the batter into the loaf pan.

  6. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. I used five small loaf pans and kept them in the oven for 35 - 40 minutes.

  7. Remove the loaves of bread from the pans with the parchment paper and cool on a rack for about 20 minutes before slicing and serving.

ENJOY!
