My Little Wild Flower is Turning ONE!

My sweet baby girl is turning ONE years old this month! I had so much fun capturing the moment with a daisy themed photoshoot alongside my gal pal photographer, Skylar Wyatt.

Since no first birthday photoshoot is complete without smash cake, I got busy the day before making a 'naked' three-tiered lemon cake with buttercream icing, decorated with fondant daisies. You can check out a time-lapse of the decorating on my Instagram.

We had plans to shoot at Skylar's amazing studio Blackwater Place, but life threw us a curveball the night before when my oldest son got sick. Since he was going to be home from school, we decided to shoot at my house. While convenient, I did not have a white backdrop. So the next morning, I got busy blowing up 100 white balloons (with an electric pump) and created a white balloon wall in front of one of my large living room windows. I then plugged in a few tissue paper daisies for an on theme pop of color. The sunlight poured through the balloons and it turned out beautifully!

Elle wore an adorable white dress adorned with delicate daisies I purchased from Etsy (I later found it way more affordably on Amazon) and her engraved gold baby bracelet. She was in the best mood for the whole shoot which shows in the pictures Skylar captured for us. While she went light on the cake, she had an absolute BLAST with the balloons, daisy sunglasses and her daisy princess wand!

Elle is pure love and my cheeks hurt from smiling looking through this album. I am overwhelmed with joy and gratitude for her. She has truly completed our family and I cannot imagine my life without her. We love you, baby girl! YOU ARE A DREAM!
