Sweethaven Lavender is a Little Slice of Heaven on Earth.

A morning in the sun with my boys among the lavender.

After nine weeks in quarantine and with the weather warming up, I was on the hunt for a new kid-friendly outdoor activity to get us out of the house! While scrolling the hashtag 'Virginia Beach' on Instagram for ideas, I stumbled upon a post of a woman happily picking lavender in a field and thought - where is that!? Much to my delight, this lovely place, Sweethaven Lavender, was just over an hour away in Williamsburg, VA. I immediately booked a spot for my kids and me to visit. Given social distancing guidelines, they are currently only booking 40 people per 2-hour time slot.

We lucked out with a warm sunny day on the farm. We picked lavender bunches, ate a picnic lunch and indulged in their blackberry lavender ice cream. It was heavenly and we cannot wait to go back!

The Property

Upon arrival, the sprawling 134 acres took my breath away. Both the view and the scent of lavender was soothing to my soul.

The Products

The barn retail space is pure eye candy. Their wide variety of products are displayed beautifully and I could not resist snapping a few pictures.

The Experience

After checking in at the barn, the nice folks at Sweethaven Lavender provide you with a basket and kid-friendly scissors before hitting the fields. The open space naturally allows for social distancing with room to roam. The kids and I equally enjoyed harvesting the flowers and look forward to finding ways to use the lavender at home.
